Here are photos illustrating the past few days along the Chiriqu\u00ed Viejo River, where workers are carrying out a controversial dredging project that began with no environmental oversight and little citizen or community involvement.<\/p>\n

Workers dug into the riverbed to build an access road so they can move equipment to and from the site.
