In May, Flagler College Prof. Jessica Veenstra and I traveled to Jordan with students as part of the Flagler Sophomore High Impact Practice, or FlagSHIP, described as “a transformative educational experience” built around the topics of citizenship, diversity and democracy.
Participating students include Matthew Dutton, Faryn Heffner, Spencer Hooker, Olivia Husik, Alex Janszen, Abby Kreinheder, Leslie Palmer, Jake Randazzo, Jake Van Clief, Hannah Williams and Michayla Wisser.
The School for International Training, or SIT, organized activities in Jordan. SIT’s field office in Amman includes Dr. Raed Al-Tabini, academic director; Sakhaa Bataineh, program assistant; and Rahim Al-Naimat, Arabic language instructor.
It was a fantastic trip. Jordan is really interesting. The people were great and the food was amazing.
